Creatief MKB (BuzzAR) wint op internationaal investment forum
Dutch SME (Jeroen Mol, BuzzAR) winner in the Mobile Apps forum in Barcelona
One of the missions of IIP/Create is to stimulate the international exposure and growth of the Dutch MKB.
Within the framework of the EU programme ImMediaTe project, IIP CREATE, representing the Dutch Creative Industries was co-organizer of the Mobile Apps Investment Forum which took place in Barcelona between June 17-18, 2010. This event took place in conjunction with the HiT Barcelona 2010 event, where IIP CREATE was one of the partners. See http://www.hitbarcelona.com/en/Hit-Community.axd.
The Dutch delegation on behalf of IIP CREATE was represented by the following people:
- Jaspar Roos, Chief Inspiration Officer Dialogues Incubator – Investor and jury member,
- Jeroen Mol, CEO, BuzzAr, the selected SME for business plan competition,
- Rene Heuven, Owner of Inmote for the show case session and a speaker at a high level panel,
- Gohar Sargsyan, EU programme manager and responsible for the ImMediaTe project.
IIP CREATE’s objectives within these events were
(1) for the Dutch SMEs
- to promote selected promissing Dutch SMEs in the area of mobile apps in the EU/international business environment,
- to offer coaching sessions on how write advanced business plan, how to make presentations for the investors and how to pitch to the investors,
- to create opportunities for them to meet international Venture Capitals, investors,
- to pitch/show case their products/services to the investors.
(2) for the investors
- to meet selected EU/international companies with high potential and innovative ideas,
- to create business contacts with international VCs and investors,
- to promote the Dutch investors in the international businesses.
In the Netherlands, the selection of the two companies was done together with Syntens.
Rene Heuven’s contribution to the panel from a Dutch SME perspective was very important and highly appreciated. He was also selected to show case his product.
Among 20 international participants in the business plan competition, our company BuzzAR was one of 8 selected companies with high scores to pitch to the high level international VCs and investors. The selection has been made by the group of the international high level jury members. After the coaching sessions Jeroen Mol, BuzzAR presented his product/service and he became one of the two winners earning an innovation voucher of worth EUR 1500, which will be realized within the ImMediaTe project’s services.
The role of Jaspar Roos as an investor and a jury member was highly important in creating fair competition among the participating companies.
